CLO CLO1: Describe country differences in political, economic and cultural terms
Format Comparative country dashboard (max 5 pages) plus individual globalisation section

Country Malaysia

For BBS11603 Assignment 1, groups of three to five act as consultants helping a Malaysian business decide on a foreign market. The report combines individual globalisation write-ups (definition, drivers and a real-world issue) with a group dashboard comparing political and legal systems, GDP and GNI, economic systems and Hofstede cultural dimensions between Malaysia and the target country.

Business Selection

Select ONE (1) business: (a) an existing real business in Malaysia, or (b) an imaginative business with specific products or industry in Malaysia.

Section A: Globalisation Analysis (Individual Component, 20 marks)

Each group member prepares a separate subsection covering the concept of globalisation:

  1. Define globalisation with academic references.
  2. Explain a minimum of THREE (3) key drivers of globalisation.
  3. Provide ONE (1) real-world example of a globalisation issue (for example a trade war, supply chain disruption or cultural homogenisation).

Section B: Comparative Country Dashboard (Group Component, 80 marks)

Create a visual dashboard comparing Malaysia (home country) and your chosen target country:

Comparison Area Required Elements
Political and legal systems Identify the political system (democratic or totalitarian); describe the legal system (common, civil or theocratic); give specific examples of how these affect business operations.
Economic systems Compare GNI and GDP (latest data with citations); classify the economy (market, command or mixed); explain implications for foreign investors.
Cultural differences Apply Hofstede’s cultural dimensions (minimum four); compare values, norms and business etiquette; explain how cultural differences affect business negotiations and management.

Format and Submission

  • Maximum 5 pages for the dashboard (excluding cover page, references and appendices).
  • Digital format: Canva, PowerPoint, Google Slides, Prezi or similar, submitted as ONE PDF in Google Classroom by the group leader only.
  • APA 7th edition referencing; supporting charts, statistics and images in appendices.
  • File title format: BBS11603_Assignment 1_Group Number_Group Name. Deadline: 20 October 2026 (before 10 am).

Get Help By Expert

Groups often lose marks on BBS11603 by listing facts without saying what they mean for the business. For every row of the dashboard, add a short “so what” for your chosen company: how the target country’s legal system affects contracts, how its economic system affects investment, and how cultural distance changes negotiation and management style. Keep the dashboard visual but within five pages, and make sure each member’s globalisation section uses different drivers and examples. Our international business assignment helpers can guide your analysis, and the assignment review service can check your final PDF. More Malaysian assignment briefs are also available.
