SBM ASSESSMENT 1

Choose a local company that you know well and can access information about. The company should either be based in or operate in Malaysia.  Having selected the company, you are required to identify the following:

1. The key drivers (opportunities and threats) shaping the Malaysian operating environment (macro and micro) over the next 6 months. (Approx. 1000 words)
2. The position of the company within its primary Malaysian sector in relation to its competitors. (Approx. 500 words)
3. The competences (strengths) and competitive advantage (if any) that the company has within its primary Malaysian sector and its ability to respond to the opportunities and threats facing the sector. (Approx. 1000 words)

Your strategic analysis must be based on the organisation’s primary Malaysian sector. Please do not use resources or add commentary that relates to overseas markets, as these will not be relevant.
