King Bakery is evaluating two different projects to expand its business. The first project, Project Nutmeg has an initial cost of RM12,000. This project states a projected cash flow of RM8,000 per year for the next 6 years. The second project, Project Cardamom, has the same initial cost and generates cash flows of RM6,000 in year 1, RM1,000 in year 2, RM2,500 in year 3, RM5,800 in year 4, RM5,100 in year 5, and RM3,500 in the final year. The cost of capital for both projects is the same which is 18 per cent. Calculate the net present value (NPV) for both projects and indicate the most favourable project for King Bakery to take on.
