Task 1 (15%)
- Students are to choose ONE (1) company based on Fortune 500 /MNCs and register with their module tutors.
(Note: On a first-come-first-served basis, no duplication of the company within the tutorial section)
Students are to register their choice of business latest by Week 5. - Students are to research the company, and the essay should encompass the following areas:
a. Introduction to the business (100 words)
b. Discuss how managerial roles such as interpersonal, Informational, and Decisional roles proposed by Henry Mintzberg apply to the chosen business.
(i) Students can choose ANY TWO groups of Managerial Roles of their choice.
(ii) Further choose and discuss MINIMUM TWO (2) SUB-ROLES FROM THE TWO GROUPS SELECTED IN PART (i) SPECIFICALLY PRACTISED BY THE MANAGER. Provide SPECIFIC LEADER OR MANAGER AS THE evidence/examples to support your answer (approximately 500 words).
c. Evaluation and explanation of how these managerial roles have improved AND/OR hindered the efficiency of the chosen business. Provide evidence/examples to support your answer (approximately 200 words).
Task 2 (5%)
- Based on the analysis above, if you are appointed as the manager in the said organization, what sort of managerial roles will you exhibit? Reflect on your opinion. (100 words)
- Justify how those managerial roles of yours will contribute to the organization’s efficiency. (100 words)

- Length: 1000 words (plus minus 10%), excluding reference list, tables, charts and illustrations. Marks will be deducted for excessive length.
