The flood peak flow in Simpang Kiri River is 1250 m³/s and it is proposed that 180 m³/s of Simpang Kiri River flow be transferred into a new proposed diversion channel. As a hydraulic consultant, you are required to prepare the alignment and detailed design of the proposed drainage system. For drainage design, a minimum freeboard of 0.50 m shall be adopted.
You may use the hydraulic design manual in Malaysia (MSMA) in your design work. You are also required to identify an area where a culvert can be constructed. Show the complete calculations and states the assumptions made in the design.
