Assignment Question (100 marks):
You are required to complete the tasks related to setting up local area networks and network configurations based on the scenario given below by using Cisco Packet Tracer.
Scenario
You are recently hired as a LAN engineer by eQuad Gold Logistic Sdn Bhd, a new warehouse company specializing in efficient storage and distribution solutions for businesses of all sizes. You have been asked to design and set up local area networks for the company in different locations.
● This company has 6 departments at 4 different building locations in Kulai Johor, Malaysia. Location A (Operation Department) has 40 computers. Warehourse Management Department is located at the ground floor of the Location B comprising 20 computers. There are two departments, which are the Human Resource Department with 6 computers, and Finance & Accounting Department with 6 computers at the first floor of Location B.
In the Location C (Customer Service Department), there are 3 rooms with 4 laptops and 1 network printer each. In the Location D (Logistics and Distribution Department), there are 20 end devices and 4 network printers. You need to consider number of addresses needed for 10% growth in the
largest subnet and 2nd largest subnet only. Distance between each location is less than 100 meters except Location D. The Location D is next to Location C with the distance of 150
meters.
You are also required to design, configure and test the addressing scheme for the company that is fulfilling the above requirements. Your tasks include configuring initial settings on the network devices (routers, switches) and configuring IP address parameters on hosts to provide end-to-end connectivity. Minimum two switches and one router should be used in the network.
