Part I (50%)
PURPOSE
This assignment aims to deepen learners’ understanding of how organisations manage strategic change. It encourages learners to examine real organisational situations, diagnose the issues surrounding a major change initiative, and propose responsible leadership actions to support successful implementation.
REQUIREMENT
Select any ONE (1) organisation that you know well through your work experience, previous employment, or credible research. Identify one major strategic change that the organisation is undertaking or has undertaken recently. This may involve digital adoption, restructuring, redesigning work processes, implementing new human resource (HR) or performance systems, strengthening organisational culture, or enhancing cross-functional collaboration.
Your report should address the following:
1. Description of the Organisation
Offer a concise organisational profile that explains its nature of business, size, structure, work arrangements (hybrid, flexible, or on-site), and strategic direction.
2. Analysis of the Strategic Change
Analyse the selected strategic change and discuss why it is important for the organisation’s long-term goals.
3. Diagnosis of Implementation Challenges
Identify and analyse two main challenges the organisation encounters in carrying out the change. These may relate to people, processes, communication, culture, or operational matters.
4. Actionable Strategies for Improvement
Propose four realistic and evidence-based strategies to address the challenges. Explain how these strategies can be carried out effectively, including leadership behaviours, communication practices, and mechanisms for tracking progress.
5. Leadership Reflection
Assuming you are the leader responsible for this initiative, reflect on how you would support the change responsibly and ethically.
Use APA 7th edition for in-text citations and the reference list, and include at least eight (8) credible sources.
