| c) | A car is travelling between two points, A and B. It passes point A with a speed of 72 km/h, and continues at this constant speed for the first 45 s of its journey. The car then accelerates uniformly for the next 80 s until it reaches a maximum speed. It maintains this maximum speed for a further 15 s. Finally, during the last 10 s, the car decelerates uniformly to rest at point B. The total distance between A and B is 6 km.
(i) Sketch the speed–time graph for the motion of the car. (Computer-generated graphs will not be accepted.) (ii) From the graph, determine the maximum speed of the car. |
