Late Submission

For any late submission without any good reasons, thus comply to the rules as per mention below:

1 day late: 5 marks will be deducted from the mark achieved by the student

2 to 9 days late: a further 5 marks will be deducted from the mark achieved by the student for each day the work remains unsubmitted

10 days late: a mark of zero will normally be recorded

Non-submission of work

Non-submission of work without extenuating circumstances will be counted as a non- submission and marked as zero.

Assignment Report (100 marks)

CLO Covered:

• Describe the use of CSS styles, internal and/or external style sheets, PHP and its techniques in web page development. (PLO3:CLO3)

Overview

You are required to design and implement a basic e-commerce website that allows users to browse products, add them to the cart, and make a purchase. The goal is to demonstrate your understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The requirements for the website are listed below: (You are not required to provide database connectivity).

Requirements:

1) Homepage:

Create an attractive homepage that includes a navigation bar, a featured product section, and a footer.

The navigation bar should have links to different product categories.

2) Product Listings:

Implement pages for at least three product categories (e.g., electronics, clothing, books).

Each category should have a list of products with details such as product name, price, and an “Add to Cart” button.

3) Shopping Cart:

Allow users to add products to a shopping cart.

Display the contents of the shopping cart, including product names, quantities, and total price.

Provide an option to remove items from the cart.

4) User Authentication:

Implement a basic user authentication system.

Users should be able to create an account, log in, and log out.

Only authenticated users should be able to proceed to the checkout.

5) Checkout Process:

Create a simple checkout process that includes a form for users to enter their shipping information.

Calculate the total cost, including shipping fees if applicable.

Provide a confirmation page after the purchase is completed.

Documentation:

1. Screenshot of each page and explain it step by step.
2. Include the codes for each page. Each section of the code MUST be included with comments. Highlight the comments.

Presentation:

1. Present your website on the specified date. Your presentation will be evaluated based on your web design skills and presentation skills.
