What is the Self-Assessment form?
To apply for the full registration title of Chartered Engineer (CEng), the Engineering Council (EngC) require you to have one of the below qualifications:
- an EngC accredited Bachelors and Masters
- or an EngC integrated MEng degree
- or qualifications recognised under an International agreement
You are applying for Interim CEng Registration because you do not meet the above criteria.

You will need to demonstrate how you meet the Learning Outcomes by giving
specific examples of times you have used your relevant knowledge and how you used it.
Rather than simply telling us that you have studied certain areas of Engineering or that you perform certain tasks in your professional role, you need to give detailed and specific, real-life examples of what education and/or career tasks you have carried out.
You should:
- Explain what you did
- How you carried it out and
- What Scientific, Mathematical or Engineering principles you used which demonstrate that you meet each learning outcome
