The purpose of this assignment is to develop an understanding on how to prepare a tourism plan, integrating the principles of tourism economics with practical planning and analyzing SWOT.
You are required to analyze the SWOT for a specific destination. In this case, you will choose your province as a tourism destination.
The assignment includes essential components of preparing tourism plan such as conducting resource inventory, conducting situation analysis, SWOT analysis, and strategies to improve tourism. Total marks for this assignment is 80 and it is worth 30% weight.
Your assignment should be within the range of 10 – 12 pages excluding the cover page.

| Conducting Situation Analysis | Situation analysis include current visitation levels, visitor spending, accommodation supply and occupancy trends, transport, attractions and resident population. | 15 |
| Strength, Weakness, Opportunity & Threats (SWOT) analysis | Do a SWOT analysis for your province in terms of offering tourism effectively. | 15 |
| Strategies | Recommend the strategies to enhance the strength, utilize the opportunity and overcome the weakness & threats to improve tourism in your province. | 15 |
| Conclusion | Summarize the strength and weakness of tourism products in your province. | 6 |
| Presentation and Referencing | Proper sentence structure with no grammatical errors. In-text citations and referencing should be in APA format. | 5 |
