You are required to apply supply chain management principles to analyse and propose improvements for the supply chain of a real organization/ company of your choice in KwaZulu Natal.

Project Brief:

Background:

Many organisations/companies face challenges related to procurement delays, inventory mismanagement, transportation inefficiencies, and supplier reliability. As future supply chain manager, you re tasked with identifying these issues and offering data-driven, sustainable solutions.

Project Tasks:

1. Company Profile & Problem identification

Choose a real local company

Investigate and describe its current supply chain network

Identify at least two major supply chain inefficiencies

2. Data Collection & Analysis

Use tools like process mapping, SWOT analysis

3. Solution Design

Propose improvemets in areas such as:

• Inventory control (e.g. JIT, EOQ)
• Supplier management
• Transportation/Logistics strategies
• Technology integration (e.g ERP, Big Data Analytics)

Implementation Plan

• Develop a phased implementation plan (timelines, budget)
• Include risk assessment and mitigation strategies

4. Report

Submit a professional report (15-20 pages)
