Assignment Instructions:
Part 1: Interview Preparation (10%)
1. Identify a company and schedule an interview with its HR manager. The company should preferably be in an industry relevant to your career interests.
2. Prepare a structured set of interview questions covering key HR areas such as:
- HR policies and practices
- Talent acquisition and retention strategies
- Employee performance management
- Training & development programs
- Legal and ethical considerations in HR
- HR’s role in organizational performance
- Current challenges and future trends in HR
Part 2: Conducting the Interview
1. Conduct the interview professionally, ensuring that responses are recorded accurately.
2. Take detailed notes or record the conversation (with permission).
3. Summarize key takeaways from the discussion.
Part 3: HR Analysis Report (30%)
1. Prepare a formal report (2,500–3,000 words) that includes:
2. Title Page – Include assignment title, student name, course, and date.
3. Executive Summary – Briefly summarize the key insights from the interview.
4. Introduction – State the purpose of the assignment, company profile, and HR manager’s role.
5. Interview Findings & Analysis – Present responses and analyze them using HR concepts and theories. Discuss alignment with best practices and empirical research.
6. Legal & Ethical Considerations – Evaluate the company’s HR compliance with legal standards.
7. HR Leadership & Problem-Solving – Analyze how HR leadership contributes to handling workplace challenges.
8. Recommendations – Provide suggestions for improving HR practices based on your findings.
9. Conclusion – Summarize key learning points.
10. References – Cite sources using APA/Harvard style.
11. Appendix – Attach the interview questions and transcript (if applicable).
Part 4: Oral Presentation (20%)
Students will present their key findings individual. The presentation should:
Be 15-20 minutes long.
Include slides summarizing the interview insights, analysis, and recommendations.
