Part I (50%)
PURPOSE
This assignment aims to encourage learners to value cultural diversity and integrate culturally sensitive leadership practices when operating in international environments.
REQUIREMENT
Assume that you are the Chief Executive Officer of a Malaysian company that wants to set up a new subsidiary in a culturally different country. Select a real Malaysian company and a foreign country of your choice. Prepare a report that includes the following:
- A brief profile of the selected company and an overview of the selected host country’s cultural context.
- The identification of at least three (3) cultural values in the selected host country that can influence organisational planning, management, and leadership style.
- An assessment of how these values differ from the Malaysian workplace culture and how important it is for managers to respect and adapt to them.
- The design of a leadership approach that demonstrates respect, cultural sensitivity, and adaptability, with justification of how this approach can enhance team cohesion and company success.
- Your report should be supported by at least four (4) credible academic references cited according to APA format.
